A suspect who allegedly threatened people with a knife as they were trying to have a midnight meal in Van Nuys was arrested early Monday, April 13.

Officers were called at about 12:15 a.m. to a Ralphs parking lot in the 7200 block of Woodman Avenue after getting a report that a man with a knife was chasing and threatening people.

He entered a Norms restaurant, still holding the knife, and began threatening people.

Outside the restaurant, the man got into a confrontation with another man as sirens blared.

He then started walking away, but officers found him and took him into custody, a LAPD spokesman said.

No one was reported injured.
